Grammy-winning DJ Black Coffee has publicly appealed to social media users to stop posting pictures of his children online amid the ongoing drama surrounding his finalized divorce from actress Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa.
The superstar DJ, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, broke his silence on October 16, 2025, just days after his ex-wife confirmed their divorce had been officially concluded after six years of legal battles.
“I understand that you people believe everything you read, and that’s fine, as a father, I have one request. Please stop posting my children on your socials,” Black Coffee wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
His plea came as social media exploded with commentary about the divorce settlement, which reportedly includes spousal support for Enhle, monthly child maintenance for their sons Asante and Anesu, and as much as 50% of Black Coffee’s assets.
The 49-year-old DJ’s request reflects his long-standing practice of keeping images of his underage children off social media platforms. However, his appeal has been met with mixed reactions from South Africans, with some fans criticizing him for perceived double standards while others defended his right to protect his children’s privacy.

The divorce has stirred strong reactions from both families. Enhle’s mother, veteran makeup artist Bongi Mlotshwa, publicly offered her daughter support, posting prayers on Instagram for “strength and peace through the storm.” Meanwhile, Black Coffee’s sister, Lungi Maphumulo, reportedly threw shade online, commenting about the settlement outcome.
One social media user expressed support for the DJ’s request, stating: “Askies Bhuti Nathi I hope those who are doing such thing will finally get the message that your children are not a social experiment project to be displayed on social media platforms & be dragged into nasty tweets by people who lack family values and principles.”
The former couple married in a traditional wedding ceremony in 2011 and held a white wedding in 2017. They officially separated in 2019. Black Coffee has since moved on with his long-term girlfriend Victoria Gonzalez, with whom he has been linked for about five years.
