Ryan Taylor Claims DJ Cuppy Dislikes Nigerians in Explosive Breakup Interview Revelations

British boxer Ryan Taylor has made explosive allegations about his ex-fiancée, Nigerian DJ and billionaire heiress Florence Otedola (DJ Cuppy), claiming she harbors disdain for her own countrymen.

In a candid October 20, 2025, interview on the Ladders podcast, Taylor opened up about the cultural clashes that allegedly doomed their whirlwind romance, which ended quietly in mid-2023 after a dramatic engagement announcement at Cuppy’s 30th birthday in November 2022.

“Is it mad if I told you that she didn’t like people from her country?” Taylor revealed, his tone laced with disbelief. He elaborated on how this alleged attitude manifested in everyday decisions: “She’ll come into my business and she didn’t want me to have her fellow country people as staff. We used to walk in the mall and people would run from their counters and ask for money.”

According to Taylor, Cuppy feared Nigerian fans and acquaintances would exploit their high-profile status for financial handouts, creating barriers in their relationship. “DJ Cuppy doesn’t like Nigerians. She didn’t want me to have Nigerian staff,” he reiterated in the viral podcast clip that has since sparked heated debates across social media platforms.

The allegations have ignited a firestorm online, with Nigerians divided between shock, defense of Cuppy, and demands for her response. Hashtags like #RyanTaylorDJCuppy trended as users dissected whether Taylor’s claims stem from bitterness or truth. Some fans labeled the accusations “petty post-breakup shade,” while others questioned if Cuppy’s global jet-setting lifestyle—fueled by her father Femi Otedola’s billions—had distanced her from her roots.

Despite the controversy, Taylor maintained a philosophical tone about the split: “Everything happens for a reason. The time that I met her, where we both were at the time, it had to happen. No regrets, lesson learnt. All I took from it were lessons.”

As of now, DJ Cuppy has remained silent on the accusations. The 31-year-old continues her multifaceted career, blending DJ sets with philanthropy through the Cuppy Foundation and pursuing her master’s degree in African Studies at Oxford University. This isn’t Taylor’s first post-breakup controversy—in June 2025, he faced backlash for shading Cuppy over a Father’s Day post.
