“As a Kid I Always Dreamed of Being a Wrestler” — IShowSpeed Reflects on WrestleMania 42 Debut

Popular YouTube streamer IShowSpeed has described his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 42 as the fulfilment of a childhood dream, following his appearance at Allegiant Stadium on April 18, 2026.

The 22-year-old, real name Darren Watkins Jr., featured in a six-man tag team match alongside Logan Paul and Austin Theory, facing LA Knight and The Usos. Although his team lost, Speed emerged as one of the night’s most talked-about performers after launching himself from the top rope to deliver a frog splash that sent Logan Paul crashing through the announce table.

Reflecting on the moment in a post-match vlog, Speed struggled to contain his excitement.

“I did good overall, you know. You know I did my frog splash. Can’t believe that we’re here now,” he said.

The high-energy content creator, who commands millions of followers across platforms, had long spoken about his desire to compete in professional wrestling. At WrestleMania 42, that ambition became reality.

“As a kid I always dreamed of being a wrestler and having my own entrance and having my own move and high flying from the top rope. Yeah I did it today,” he said.

Speed acknowledged that the match was far from polished, describing the atmosphere inside the stadium as chaotic and fast-paced. However, he made clear that the experience surpassed any expectations.

“Everything was all over the place but man I wanna close out this vlog. I love y’all so much,” he told his viewers, signing off in his trademark style.

His frog splash quickly became one of the most circulated clips from the event, drawing widespread praise from fans and wrestling commentators who credited him for his commitment and willingness to take risks alongside established WWE talent.

Speed’s appearance at WrestleMania 42 adds to a growing list of social media personalities crossing over into professional wrestling, a trend that has gained significant momentum in recent years. Whether his debut marks a one-off appearance or the beginning of a longer association with WWE remains to be seen, but his performance left little doubt that the internet’s most energetic personality is comfortable in the spotlight, regardless of the stage.
