He went into the South African jungle battling chronic illness, faced bullying accusations, a dramatic fallout with a campmate, and a final challenge that divided the entire internet. But Adam Thomas came out the other side as champion of I’m A Celebrity South Africa 2026, with his wife Caroline Daly beside him every step of the way.
Thomas was crowned winner of the 2026 series, beating out finalists Harry Redknapp and Sir Mo Farah to take the title. His journey, however, was far from straightforward.
During the series, Thomas faced what many viewers described as a difficult camp environment. Boxer David Haye was accused of bullying him, which Haye denied. Thomas also had a significant row with Jimmy Bullard after the retired footballer refused to take part in a trial the pair had been paired up for, a decision that nearly cost Thomas his place in the competition.
Through it all, his wife Caroline was his anchor. In one of the series’ most emotional moments, Thomas broke down in tears after receiving a voice message from Caroline and their two children, saying it was “just what he needed” and “the perfect way to end the night.”
Ahead of the final, Caroline posted a heartfelt message on Instagram, writing: “Over the past few weeks, we’ve watched you go through some of the toughest times. Me, Teddy and Elsie are so proud of you. You’re in the final. Let’s show everyone the Adam we know, the one with the biggest laugh and the brightest smile.”
The couple’s bond carries added weight given what they have navigated off screen. Thomas was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis in 2023 and requires regular injections. In February 2026, he shared an emotional post praising Caroline for administering his medication, calling her “the best mother, the best wife, nurse, and somehow still my best friend after 18 years together.”
